About AI Video Scout

An independent review site for AI video tools. This page explains who decides what goes on it, how tools are tested, and how affiliate links affect what you read.

What this site is

AI Video Scout reviews and compares AI video tools - generators, avatar platforms, editors and short-form clip creators. The category moves fast, marketing pages oversell, and most comparison content online is a rewritten feature list. The aim here is narrower and more useful: what each tool actually produces, where it breaks, and who it suits.

Every tool we cover gets a full review page with pricing, strengths, trade-offs and a rating out of 10. Category pages group them so you can compare tools that solve the same problem, and head-to-head comparisons cover the pairings people weigh against each other most often.

How tools get tested

Each tool is run on the same brief: a short scripted explainer and, where the format applies, a long recording to cut down. Using identical source material is the only way a comparison means anything - a tool that looks strong on its own demo often falls apart on someone else's script.

We work at default settings first, because that is how most people use these products. Advanced configuration gets noted separately. What we watch for: output quality without manual fixes, what the free tier really allows, export limits and resolution caps, and how the tool handles the awkward cases - accents, technical vocabulary, fast speech, footage that is not a clean single speaker.

How ratings work

Ratings are out of 10 and reflect output quality, value at the entry price, and how well the tool does the specific job its category implies. A score is not a ranking of company size or funding - a $9/mo tool that nails short-form captions can rate above a platform ten times its price that does the same job worse.

Ratings change when products change. Pricing shifts, free tiers get cut, and features that were gated get released. When we re-test and the verdict moves, the review moves with it.

How we make money

AI Video Scout is an independent review site. We may earn affiliate commissions when you purchase through our links — at no extra cost to you. All reviews reflect our honest, unbiased testing and analysis.

In plain terms: some links on this site are affiliate links, and if you subscribe through one we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Commission rates differ between tools, and they play no part in ratings, ordering or which products get recommended. Tools we would not use are marked as such regardless of what they pay, and several products with high commission rates rate poorly here.

Corrections

Pricing and features in this category change monthly, and we do not always catch a change on the day it happens. If something here is out of date or wrong, tell us at support@aivideoscout.com and we will check it and correct the page.
